Reactions to the guilty pleasure gift basket for my brother made it clear I needed to recreate this wonder for one lucky Chipmunk. Only make it BETTER. Way better. I’ve been working on this bad boy for a while. That’s right. It’s time for the…

101 thoughts on “GoGuiltyPleasures Gift Basket Giveaway!”

    1. I feel so bad about that, but the 1st Class shipping can get a little out of control! I just made a slight amendment, though, to say that non-U.S./Canada residents can win the runners-up prizes! I would hate to miss out on hearing ’round the globe guilty pleasures… 😉

  1. My guilty pleasure is more than slightly embarrassing. I have Miley Cyrus’ “Hoedown Throwdown” in my iPod. Because it makes me smile and want to dance whenever I hear it. I even added it to my workout mix.

    Don’t judge me.

    1. Oh there is no judgment here, believe you me! Except to say that that is an AWESOME guilty pleasure and you fit right in here. You don’t even want to see my iPod playlist. (Or maybe you do?? ;))

    2. You Think thats bad? I have Rolf Harris – Court of King Caratacus.

Youtube it. Laugh at it. Judge me if you wish.

      Guilty Pleasures FTW!!

It needs to be in the runners up and not the main, because I am in Australia!!

      1. Haha, I look forward to said adjustments 😛

Also, I feel your pain at turning another decade over…. I turned 20 last Friday, and boy do I feel ancient o.o
Why am I not a teen anymore! D:

  3. Omigosh! I WANT this. Because you KNOW I thought your brother was looking a serious gifthorse in the mouth. Okay, you know I love to break into dance. But that’s the small stuff. Another guilty pleasure?

I sometimes sunbathe topless in my backyard.

And there is a middle school in my backyard.

True. You cannot make this stuff up. 😉

Off to put this on my Facebook page. But I’m bitter. Because I want this.

Also, FYI, 30 is wayyyyyyy better than anything the 20s had to offer.

    1. Renee, that is amazing. Just amazing. THANK YOU so much for Tweeting, FB-ing and most importantly, submitting a hilarious, creative, AWESOME guilty pleasure! MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR. 😉

  4. You’re a brave lady! Have fun turning 30, come, see and conquer! I’ve got a few more years to go, you’ll have to tell me what to expect 😛 As for guilty pleasures, let me just say, romance novels, webcomics, whipped cream and Tom Jones. 🙂

    1. hahaha Okay. Whipped cream and Tom Jones together or individually? Because those are both awesome entries on their own, but together…man.

I will keep you posted if I make it to the other side alive (30)!! 😉

  5. Do I have to provide a new GP or can I just point to all my Friday posts for the past year? Isn’t bad enough that I’ve already admitted to liking Kelly Clarkson and Wet,wet, wet? And u already know about Glee and Gilmore Girls. Ok fine, here are more – mandy patinkin and the movie Waterworld. I’ve seen Mandy in concert twice.

  6. Talk about performance anxiety. How to snag this fabulous gift basket worth thousands and thousands of dollars without
    a) exposing myself to public ridicule
    b) making up stuff?
    This will take some thought…

    1. I just realized I need to try dipping the animal crackers IN the Nutella (you’d better believe I stocked up on some extra for myself, LOL). But I’m afraid my head might explode from the sheer awesomeness.

  7. Proving Doctors wrong. Although it’s cost my insurance company hundreds of thousands of dollars for me to figure out I can do this, (because I’ve been mis-diagnosed so many times,) It’s actually become pretty fun!

  8. THAT. IS. AWESOMMMMEEEE!!! I want it all. ALL, I SAY!

Although, if it makes you feel better (about giving it all to me, that is . . . ) I would share some of my winnings. I would totally give the Pop-Tarts to Thoughtsy, cuz she’s my girl and I know how she feels about them (hands off Uncle Jesse, though. My affection only goes so far!), and I would give the mustache keychain to my 6 year old, who is recently obsessed with all things mustaches. He bought a set of mustaches from the dollar store and stuck them all over his face. It was adorable. He would love that keychain. And both boys will get the slap bracelets. I imagine the great Slap Bracelet Battle of 2012 will be epic. I only hope nobody loses an eye! 🙂

The rest I will keep. I’m generous, not moronic! And I DID know I needed that monkey wine cozy, obviously! That and the Cutting Edge DVD . . . “Oh, Doug!”

Ok, Guilty Pleasures time, I guess. Here goes:

    * I go to Zumba where I proudly and enthusiastically dance to “I’m Sexy & I Know It,” Lady Gaga and Cotton Eyed Joe (gulp).
    * I have willingly danced to Cotton Eyed Joe in a club (and done the Macerena numerous times in my youth . . . in fact, that dance at a wedding is what snagged me the hubs. Mad skills, yo!)
    * I can quote every word of Say Anything and The Breakfast Club.
    * I love Yoo-hoo (the drink, not the salutation).
    * I listen to country music and love me some Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood and Lady Antebellem (NOT that squinty eyed nympho, Taylor Swift, though).
    * I love Glee and Smash, and will find myself instantly in love with any song performed on those shows, even if I have never before heard it or had previously disliked it (especially Glee!).
    * I love to completely abandon, um ignore, wait . . . I mean escape (damnit!). Let’s start over . . . I love to allow my hubs to have some fine quality time with his kids whilst I take a long relaxing bubble bath, with a good book and a glass of wine.
    * I enjoy having a big bowl of pasta with an equally huge glass of wine and just vegging out in front of the TV on a Saturday night in my PJs. (Sadly that guilty pleasure has mostly fallen away as I am trying to lose weight).
    * I LOVE reading your blog!!!! (I figured a little sucking up could never hurt, right?). 😀

Hopefully that is enough, because I really really really really really really really really really really really really really (is that enough?) want that basket. Like a lot! Pretty please???

Oh, and I will do the FB thing later today when I get back to my office. Consider it done! I don’t tweet, though, sorry. (Hope you don’t deduct points for that).

Oh, and . . . . did I mention how much I love you? And how pretty you look today? And thin . . . you are looking quite svelt lately, lady. And YOUNG! You don’t look a day over 22!! 😀

      1. Oh, I have plenty of dignity. What I don’t have is bacon chocolate and a monkey wine cozy. I’m willing to give a little dignity away for those. I think it’s a fair trade. 🙂

      2. Peg, I wasn’t sure this contest was really off the ground until I saw you making trouble.

Pay her no mind, Misty. This is the land of shamelessness. Now, how pretty am I, exactly?

    1. Misty, this entry has it all! A*s kissing, a “Cutting Edge” quote, AND Glee! And you included specific details – readers, take note!! And watch out for Misty! Very nicely done.

  9. I will tell you something no one knows. Maybe. I don’t think the ladies at the Dollar General store have caught on. When I have to run to the store for milk in the middle of the week, and I can go by myself….. I get a Lindt chocolate truffle! And I eat it in the car so my husband and child don’t know I am having chocolate without them! I love chocolate, but we can’t afford extra things trying to raise a toddler in today’s economy. So I sneak a 78 cent piece of chocolate every now and then to make me feel better.
Blogging is also a guilty pleasure of mine.

    1. That is fantastic, Symanntha! I know how hard it is to treat yourself, especially when money is tight, but I think it really does somethin’ for the guilty pleasure soul. I hope you keep buying those chocolates (and your secret’s safe with me)! 🙂

  10. Hmmm…a gulity pleasure…so many from which to choose…
well, every morning I….no. no that’s more of a psychotic pleasure.
    How about these…
    – Sometimes, only a couple SuzieQs will do.
    – I have at least one song from the following artists on my iPod: The Monkees, Heavy D & The Boyz, MC Hammer, Family Force 5, The KLF, The Muppets, The Turtles, Bobaflex, Lamb of God
    – I own season 1 of The Munsters on DVD
    – mac & cheese should be it’s own food group.

  11. Regarding your reply about doctors… The whole reason I’m writing my misdiagnosis blog is because of this. I want people to know that just because a doctor says it, it doesn’t make it true. But I have to say, when you negotiate treatment with M.D.’s it feels pretty good when you’re right and they’re wrong! LOL

  12. I seriously wish I had read through the entire post before Now Husband, the cat and I got tattoos. OK, here goes: I eat entire pints of coffee Haagen Dazs in the car as I drive alone in the car. No spoon. No napkin. By the time I’m finished, it both the steering wheel and I are covered with ice cream. Yum.

    1. Well you can just tell people it’s a tattoo of Katherine Heigl if you’d like. (snort)

Really?? In the car? Without a spoon? I am SO impressed, Renee! That is true guilty pleasure dedication. I love this entry.

  13. Sooo here’s my tweet;!/valeru/status/192021916477960193

anddd my guilty pleasure would have be the song Guilty Pleasure by Cobra Starship, because I mean, have you ever HEARD that song? It’s just so…catchy.

Also, my other one would have to be Gossip Girl, there’s just something about watching all those beautiful people crumble because they aren’t perfect is so satisfying. I have only been watching it for about two weeks and I’m already almost halfway through season 2! 🙂

  14. Omg I have to win this. Tell all these people to stop commenting because its MINE ALL MINE!

Hmm guilty pleasure. I’m trying to think of what like you know watching 3 hours of TV daily. The worst part of that is that technically I’m underexaggertaing, its probably more like 4. God. I’m sort of embarassed to say that. I just love to TV, in an unnatural way. Maybe (probably) because I have always wanted to do something in the TV/Film industry. Maybe one of these days I’ll make it to Cali (in which I envision I will become instantly blonde, tan and thin.. so far I’ve got the blonde taken care of) but until then TV is my definite guilty pleasure.

      1. Well are we talking weekend or week day? Because I can totally handle that! If only we lived closer to each other! I want a friend to watch TV with! There’s just nothing like sharing snacks and snide commentary while watching a great show.

  15. My guilty pleasure would have to be almond butter! It’s so creamy and delicious that I want to put it on everything I eat!! Having a lot of it is guilty and but the taste is definitely a pleasure sent from heaven!! Thanks!

  16. BAack in time,I used to work for a gourmet food and kitchen store. I love, love, love that peanut butter. But I couldn’t do the bacon choco.

You know they make bacon flavoured torani syrup? (the crap they use at Starbucks)

    1. OMG. Don’t count out the chocolate-bacon bar before you’ve tried it. If you like chocolate-covered peanuts or pretzels, it’s the same idea. Salty + sweet = heavenly goodness.

I didn’t know they had bacon-flavored syrup! How did I not know this? Thank you for keeping me in the bacon loop! It’s very important to me that I stay in that loop.

  17. OMG! I really reeeeeally need to win this. for the luv of Nutella! Lol..

I have sooo many guilty pleasures how do I start?
-I secretly have my son watch iCarly for together time (so
I can watch iCarly without looking like a little girl)
-I know all the words to the opening song of Nickelodeons Victorious
    – I crochet at work on the weekends and secretly tune out the callers on the other end of the phone
    – i go to sephora and try on makeup pretending like i am acutally going to buy… (i of course use all the disposable applicators)
-i endulge in a big bowl of Kraft
Mac & cheese, topped with hotdogs and ketchup!

Yeah so maybe my guilty pleasures are a little ummmm immature? But thats what makes them guilty pleasures right?

I have also posted u on my blog and facebook!

P.s. Thank u for bringing a grin above my chin, love ur extremely sarcastic sense of humor!

    1. Thank YOU so much, for this awesome entry – and the pingback and FB mention! I LOVE that you have iCarly on your guilty pleasure list – I’m guilty of watching Wizards of Waverly Place and Camp Rock m’self. And mac and cheese is an absolute MUST. With hot dogs and ketchup? Totally magical. …Hang on, gotta go look for my blankie. 😉

  18. I need this basket because I am guilty of too many things to list here. Though, there is enough room to list my regrets–none, Except maybe that time when… Oops, cookie timer went off, gotta go…. 😉

    1. LOL Do feel free to email me the entire guilty pleasure saga – I’d love to read it! And thank you for the FB mention, too!! DON’T LET THOSE COOKIES BURN. 😉

    1. haha Ryan, this comment both cracked me up and made me sad. I agree. You should have access to him. Everyone should. He’s very wise, and a pretty good cook (naturally, he likes to cook with wine).

  19. I linked to this post on Facebook, and would’ve done so even if that weren’t a path to entry. This is just such a perfect reflection of why I love your blog so!

I’ll be thinking about #2. Also wondering how the heck I missed this a few days ago. (Can I call this a blonde moment? My hair’s, um, totally growing in blonde since I shaved it off.)

    1. Aw, Deb, thank you so much! As I said on FB, people better watch out for you, the reigning contest champ at GoGuiltyPleasures! And my WP reader is definitely out to get me – I realized this week that NONE of Jessica Buttram’s (Meet the Buttrams) posts were showing up in my reader for the past month, yet when I went to her blog, it showed I WAS still following her. Grr.

  20. This is an awesome looking gift basket! Being Canadian I am ineligible, but I’ll share my guilty pleasure anyway: Jerry Springer and Maury Povich. When I get home from school and I need to de-stress, I beeline to the TV and indulge in the horridness of other people. I was even lucky enough to find a boyfriend with the same passion for bad TV. Go me!

    1. Actually, kiwibee, U.S. *and* Canadian residents are eligible for the grand prize! 🙂 So if there’s anything you want to add here, heh heh heh… although, this is about a guilty pleasure-y as it gets (LOVE IT)! Major props on the boyfriend catch, too!! Thank you so much for sharing 🙂

      1. Holy cow! This totally just made my day! I could also mention my amazingly nerdy MMO addiction, but oh, the guilt! 😛

  21. Guilty pleasure #1: Couponing. You know, like extreme style.
Guilty pleasure #2: Fingernail polish. Its pretty w̶o̶n̶d̶e̶r̶f̶u̶l̶ bad when you have more colors than you have dollars in the bank.
Guilty pleasure #3: Whole milk. I may or may not keep two gallons in the fridge at all times. Just for myself.

& I do have to say you’re onto something with the whole Nutella thing…

    1. Couponing! Yesss. I think that’s the first time anyone’s mentioned that as a guilty pleasure on this blog! Do you watch TLC’s Extreme Couponing? I love that show.

And whole milk is delish. I actually use half and half in my coffee and nothing else, because that skim/non-dairy/fake stuff creeps me out. And whole milk tastes GREAT with Nutella… 😉

Thank you so much for submitting this awesome entry!!

  22. Alright, I don’t know how i can compete with sunbathing next to a middle school, eating hagen daaz without a spoon while driving or having a secret chocolate when my family isn’t around (all which made me laugh like a crazy person) but I’m gonna at least give it a go!
I voted at that link you posted, posted to facebook (i’m not sure how i will prove this with my security settings) and my blog. I have twitter but don’t use it (that’s a story for another time if you get bored) and i got the tattoo and performed the ritual sacrifice.
I emailed you this pic but incase it comes down to bloggers voting in the contest, here is the link
    Now for the guilty pleasures:
I sing to my cat Alex every day when i come home. I even sing as alex sometimes. I am not a good singer so he’s probably embarrassed.
Speaking of bad singing i also am a big harry potter nerd and i used to be a part of an online Hogwarts website where you took classes and met other nerds. You would think that would be a guilty enough pleasure right there as it’s terribly embarrassing but i used to compete in a yearly singing contest there called HOL idol and i would actually record myself singing and enter the contest. 0________0 SO EMBARRASSING. I wrote bad fanfic too XD

    1. I just don’t even know where to begin with the awesomeness of this. That picture should be in a museum. There are no words.

Thank you SO much (thank you thank you!!!), and also for ‘plugging’ this giveaway in so many ways!

Now. Harry Potter. How did I not know about Hogwarts school (’cause believe you me, I’ve written some fan fic in my day, too! LOL)?! I want to hear more about this!! Have you seen the Very Potter Musical (and Very Potter Sequel) on YouTube? That’s what put me over the edge with my love of Second Husband, Darren Criss.

Oh and singing to your pets is mandatory for any and all pet-owning readers of this blog. Singing badly makes it even better 😉

      1. Yay! There has to be a bad sears portrait homage museum out there and if there isn’t i now know my lifes mission!

This contest is amazing. All that stuff is fantastic. I will don a curly wig and paint on bright blue eye shadow if it means i have a chance to get nutella mailed to me.

Oh HP. This particular place i was about of was called HOL (hogwarts online) I even taught a class there because you know, i still had some shame left. I don’t go on that site anymore but i am pretty excited for which they describe as a social platform for fans. I guess it’s kine of like pottermore but not boring? It’s not out until june so i really don’t know lol. I have seen the potter musicals. I have to sadly say that i wasn’t a huge fan. It was a bit too ridiculous even for me but i do love darren criss and some of the songs he wrote for it are amongst my faves.

Okay good. Alex probably wouldn’t agree but he’s a cat so how would he know 🙂

  23. Two words, dollface: Richard Simmons. I love everything there is to love about him and have dedicated a blog post to my affection for him (luckily, only about four people in my really really real life even know the blog exists so no harm done to my social life =) ). People think I’m wrong, but the truth is those sparkly tank tops and flamboyant nature remind me of my childhood and constantly bring a smile to my face. And happy early birthday… just in case you needed a little sucking up as well. 😉

  24. I had to think an awful lot about this, because basically my whole entire life is a guilty pleasure. Like, every Saturday, there are usually kids waiting up for us when we get home from work and I turn on heavy metal documentaries on VH-1 and shout back at the television and they like, go right to bed! I don’t even notice! Guilt! But Pleasure!

My favorite guilty pleasure though is when CC lets me sleep in and gets up with the kids in the morning, because he lets the puggles into our bedroom. They burrow under the covers and lay on me. Tiny (or, in Casey’s case, not-so-tiny) furnaces. We call them the sleep weights. They make you narcoleptic and if I put headphones on with my meditation music I don’t hear a damn thing and I can’t move. Next thing I know it’s like 9:30 and the house is empty and the kitchen is clean. I would like to tell you this is a special treat for me but really, it’s more like four out of five school days.

    I have a great husband.

  25. I love Real Housewives..and Skinny Girl Margaritas. This week I got to meet Bethenny Frankel. I waited in line for her to sign my bottle and when I got up there, almost forgot my name and stood about a mile away from her. In our picture she is leaning so far over, you think she would have fallen out of her chair. At last, it was worth the mintue I got to be next to her. My husband laughs at the picture alot because..well, I set it as our background for the computer:) Why not? If he meet his idol he feel the same way!!

  26. Permalink:…ilty-pleasures

The above link shows the awesome pictures. I know, I’m too late for Nutella and slap bracelets (sob sob) But here’s the story…

I had the spoon ready, jar open, when one lumbered out of the garage. Apparently Francisco hadn’t closed it when he left this morning. Ok, that was probably me. But I knew that I was going to have to deal with this.

I alerted the boys, Javier and Enrique – “get the team ready!” We unleashed our slap bracelets.

you will note that I don’t actually have an awesome “Go Guilty Pleasure” slap bracelet. That’s ’cause I haven’t won the contest.”Go Guilty Pleasure Power!” we cried in unison as the snap bracelets activated our super-powered alter egos. 80’s synthesizer music played. Strobe effects gyrated. It was truly outrageous.

Sometimes, when you are a man, you wear stretchy pants. It’s for fun.Copyright infringement boy!

Defender of the Nutella!!!And Blogging Mom…

Francisco is torn by his love for Blogging Mom…Turns Into Guilty Girl!

And side-ponied awesomeness of Guilty Girl! Little does he realize (gasp!) it’s the same person… (with a side pony and slap bracelet)As more zombies piled in, keeping me from the Nutella (and peanut butter and chocolate chips) cupboard. We soon realized, the only way to get to the Nutella was to stop the zombies. And the only way to stop the undead – was by unleashing our music. Yes, we’re a band too. Guilty Girl and the Holograms. So we played… Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Zombies have an irresistible urge to dance when that is played.

The zombies seemed pretty limber as we sang and danced.

Little did I realize, we were being played. After the song, strangely, they dispersed. But when I checked the cupboard, all the Nutella was gone. And the peanut butter, and chocolate chips. It looked as if some of them, had even managed to microwave the chocolate chips so they are slightly melty and gooey. Something of course, I would never do. So I am not the reason we are out of chocolate, peanut butter AND Nutella.

It’s also why the neighbors may be complaining of some loud Michael Jackson coming from the house.

I know Francisco is saying, zombies don’t eat real food. But that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
