Most likely you’re still nursing your post-St. Paddy’s day hangover, if I’m to believe those who dialed into NYC’s most popular radio station, Z100, this morning. One woman woke to find her prosthetic leg in a tree, another man discovered himself in bed with his ex-girlfriend…and ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend.
I’m taking all of this to mean that you have the most raging case of the Mondays to date. Me too. Let’s turn these frowns upside-down with a few things that make me grin, giggle and guffaw (in that order), despite the fact that an endless week of fake niceties and spastic colons (thanks, Hoops and YoYo) await.
#1 – Going Bald for Good
Many of you have read that two of my favorite bloggers, Deb (The Monster In Your Closet) and Chris (From the Bungalow), will be shaving their heads this coming Saturday, for St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a childhood cancer charity. For immediate inspiration, head over to their blogs by clicking their names above; I encourage you to offer words of encouragement and/or a donation.
Not much guilty pleasure in that, but there IS guilty pleasure in finding a website that lets you try on Halloween wigs (for free) without leaving the comfort of your home:

#2 – Hoops and YoYo Sympathize
Hoops and YoYo are Hallmark’s rock stars. I love them. They sum up what Mondays feel like better than I ever could:
#3 – The John Krasinski Cure-All
A recent comment from the talented (and hilarious) Leanne Shirtliffe (Ironic Mom) inspired me to dig up a clip of one of my favorite actors, John Krasinski, doing his marionette man. If this doesn’t make you smile, you have a lot in common with things that don’t smile.
Happy Monday!
What gets you through the Monday blues?
Nyquil.
Oh, don’t I hear you there, sister.
If I wore my telephone headset, I wonder if anyone would notice I was asleep?
The video of Conan worked for me! Happy Monday, Jules!
Hee I just watched it again and it still made me GOL (guffaw out loud…ha)! Happy Monday, Darla! 🙂
Every day I worked in a cubicle, I felt exactly like Hoops (or was it Yo-Yo?).
Anyway, love the John Krasinski clip (love him in general). Is it just me or was he wearing leggings? If any man has my ok to wear leggings, it is him. Unfortunately, no man has my ok to wear leggings.
There are SO many times I feel like that in my cubicle (though it’s nice, as far as cubicles go, I suppose)! I’m glad you got out!!!
hahaha I was wondering the same thing about his pants! I really don’t think they’re stretchy, but…it’s a close call. Too close.
seeing you with purple hair!
LOL I bet you could pull off purple hair! Me, I’m not so sure… Pink, maybe. 😉
I find Monday’s go a lot smoother if you just keep the St. Patrick’s Day going. Especially the pinching. People love it.
You make a good point. And there’s never a bad time for Bailey’s. My boss didn’t care much for the pinching, though. (er, wink?)
What gets me through Monday blues?
YOU!
And the thought of four-day weekends involving good friends. ♥
Right back at’cha, Deb, as this post suggests!! 🙂
What gets me through Monday? Tuesday.
You and purple hair . . . match made in heaven.
Loved the Krasinski clip. I’m sold. He’s a cutie.
I unfortunately did not get to party on St. Patrick’s Day cuz the hubs is away and I had boy duty. I mean, I did have a glass of wine Saturday night. I’m not an animal! But otherwise, nope. No hang over here. Bummer.
LOL Amen to that!
I’m not so sure about the purple hair, but if it caught John Krasinski’s eye, I might be onto something… 😉
I actually didn’t do anything for St. Patrick’s Day, either (except have friends over for a non-themed lunch)! I think this means you get to make up for it in the future with a day of shameless binge drinking.
I hadn’t seen that video! Thanks. That will cheer me up any time of day…or night. 🙂
Some day, we’re going to hang out. Right?
Thank YOU for reminding me I had to share it!
I sure hope so. I like Canada. 😉
Running! And signing up for new marathons!!
I hope you don’t mind that I like you DESPITE this enthusiasm for *shudder* running. 😉
I would run, but I don’t want to spill my drink.
LOL.
I love your purple wig! Omigosh! I think I could play on that site all day long! 😉 Fabulous, Jules!
I have definitely spent a whole day giving myself fake makeovers online, LOL
My St. Paddy’s day party was so fab that I’m just getting around to work today. Is it ok if your Monday cheer-ups are applied to Tuesday as well?
Absolutely. In fact, I hope you’re still going.
I want to hear more about this party.
Reblogged this on My Blog and commented:
Greetings for you… aGZEUSa-
Wow – thank you so much! I really appreciate it!
I get through the first day of the week by fooling myself into believing that Monday’s already here so it doesn’t count, therefore there are just four days ’till Friday!
