I usually only blog once a week (Wednesday mornings PST) because someone once told me you can have too much of a good thing.

I’m way too old to blog about celebrity obsessions in my late 30’s and known for my epic fails and my even more epic fails. Perhaps my only win is my doodle-rific dog, Uncle Jesse.  Every now and then, things get serious.

Originally from New Jersey, in 2019 I began auditioning cities for “Home Base of The Girl Who Says Yes to Everything Just for the Blog Post.” Which might be how, in June 2019, I landed in central Oregon!

Dear Oregon: I did it all for the blog post.

By day I’m a project manager, humane educator, creative writing coach, and YouTube sensation. By night I blog about missing thumbs and saving the planet. Eventually I hope to chuck it all and open a goat yoga studio.

Oh! One more thing you should probably know. I like chipmunks. A lot.

  5. Hi Jules! Glad I found your blog – great way for this Jersey Girl (now living in the South but FOREVER from JERSEY!) to enjoy her coffee this morning – wish I could send you some chipmunks! Our yard is a chipmunk Club Med! They don’t even care that we have two dogs – oi!!

      Why does EVERYONE see chipmunks except me?! That’s part of why I’m so fascinated – I NEVER see them, and if I do, they’re running for cover. Your Club Chipmunk Med sounds amazing.

      1. They are cute and are EVERYWHERE! I realized I can make a business out of this. You see, they are not common in Spain and are sold as pets! Except, chip&dale would have to learn Spanish 🙂
        Btw, this jersey girl stands out like a sore thumb down south and I LOVE IT! As they say, “bless their little southern hearts”
        You can spot me anywhere because I still park rear first – it was the only way to get out of a snowed in parking lot!

  23. Oh, Julsie, I knew you’d have a bezillion comments on your “About” page, so I hope you see this. It’s me, the former Sprinkles, now turned Disappearing Woman, but still really named Sherri. Remember me? I hope you’re doing well. I began a new blog in January. It began as my weight loss journal, but soon morphed into a blog. I’m glad I refound your blog and have followed you and tucked you securely in my reader. What you post here and the way you present it (with your subtle internal thoughts crossed out) is priceless. You can’t possibly make this stuff up. The spilled red wax / your dad’s chopped thumb / your eHarmony happenings. And you have over 14,000 followers?!? Even satanic cults don’t attract that many people. I love your self-deprecating humor!

  38. Hi Jules, just found you and now folllwing you. You’re an incredible writer and I love your sense of humor. Too many people take themselves and this life too seriously. It’s just too short to not laugh as often as we can.
    I’m actually a comedy writer and I write sets for several comedian friends throughout the U.S.
    As far as chipmunks are concerned, I’m not sure if you’re aware of their love for Cheetos??
    I’m from Alabama and saw many squirrels growing up there but did not see my first chipmunk until after living in Washington state and taking my children to Mt. St. Helens. I turned my back for just a minute on my then 4 year old son and he then yells, “Mom! Cheetos are chipmunks favorite food!” Lol
    I think he was on to something considering the sight I turned to.
    He was surrounded by 11 chipmunks, he was handing them each a Cheeto and they were devouring them! The cutest part is they would hold on to the ends as if eating a corncob and then actually nibbled like we do while eating corncobs! It was so cute.
    After an invasion of chipmunks were upon us, I began to be concerned that they might get sick from the Cheetos so we left.
    To this day, when my son ( now 19), sees Cheetos, he says, “the chipmunks corncob!” 😂
